Qualifications

• Active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver’s License at time of application
• Must be at least 21 years old at time of application
• No suspensions or revocations of driver’s license in the past five years
• Must obtain active unrestricted Class M license within six months of employment or by end of probationary period
• Active Class A Pennsylvania Commercial Driver's License with endorsements P and N; license must not have restrictions E, L, N, O or Z

Responsibilities

• Evaluate driver license applicants for physical qualifications, driving ability, and vehicle condition to ensure safety standards are met
• Administer written knowledge examinations for traffic signs and Vehicle Code understanding
• Conduct driving skills tests for non-commercial and CDL applicants following department standards
• Verify identity documents, registrations, insurance cards, and other records for accuracy
• Identify potential fraud and ensure authenticity of documents and identities
• Explain procedures, test results, complaint processes, and licensing requirements to applicants
