Job summary

Talus Development is seeking a CDL Driver/Laborer to support its construction crew on underground telecom and sewer projects. The role involves manual labor, operating trucks and equipment, and assisting with cable installations.

The candidate must be able to work outdoors, lift up to 75 pounds, and participate in an on-call rotation to aid the team as needed.

Qualifications

• Must hold CDL with appropriate class for driving commercial trucks.

Job Overview

We have an opening for a CDL Driver/Laborer. The candidate must be willing to work on a construction crew assisting in construction activities (manual labor) for placement of various underground telecommunications cable/fiber and/or sewer pipeline installations. Willing to be on-call rotation to assist their team.

Responsibilities

• Performs general construction work under the direction of a Foreman/Supervisor
• Hand dig holes and trenches with a shovel and other hand tools
• Basic knowledge of underground cable locating
• Ability to operate various types of trucks and equipment
• Responsible for transporting equipment and materials
• Install underground telecommunications cabling
• Flagging traffic, setup safety perimeter using signage, cones, and safety barriers
• Performs daily walkarounds and alerts mechanics of any defects.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees

Qualifications

• Climb into and out of equipment (cars, trucks, backhoes, trenchers, etc)
• Operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery
• Knows and obeys all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Rules and Regulations
• Repetitive motion with hand, wrist, feet, head, and shoulder
• The ability to work outdoors in a diverse environment
• Work in congested and remote areas
• Work while standing or sitting for several hours at a time
• Must be able to work in small/sometimes confined areas
• Must be able to work in variable heights/depths
• Must be able to lift/carry up to 75+ pounds
• Reach, bend, stoop while performing work
• Maintain visual and audible contact with other crewman and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement
