Job summary

Grayson Carter and Son Contracting, Inc. in Alabama seeks a CDL Class A driver to operate commercial vehicles, including dump trucks, and transport materials to job sites.

You must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen, maintain safety, adhere to DOT rules, and wear PPE; overtime/weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A required and endorsements (Hazmat and tanker)
• Ability to communicate and convey information effectively
• Must be physically able to stand, walk, sit, crouch, kneel, climb, and lift up to 75 pounds
• Knowledge of DOT Rules and OSHA Standards and safety practices
• Possession of Arsenal/FBI badges preferred but not required
• Dependable transportation and willingness to work weekends/overtime
• Able to pass pre-employment drug screen

Responsibilities

• Operate commercial vehicles (e.g., dump trucks) in accordance with traffic laws and safety regulations
• Ensure proper cargo handling and securing to prevent transit damage
• Adhere to all DOT hours of service, weight limits, and vehicle inspections
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance (fluid checks, tire pressure, brakes) to ensure safe operation
• Maintain professional conduct and positive relationships with colleagues and supervisors
• Represent Grayson Carter and Son Contracting, Inc. in a professional manner
• Work additional duties as assigned and comply with PPE requirements

• Operate commercial vehicles, such as dump trucks, in accordance with traffic laws and safety regulations
• Ensure proper handling and securing of cargo to prevent damage during transit
• Adhere to all federal, state, and local driving regulations, including hours of service, weight limits, and vehicle inspections
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and brakes, to ensure safe operation
• Maintain a high level of quality work at all times
• Maintain good relationships with Technicians, Foreman, Superintendents, Inspectors, Developers, and other co-workers at all times
• Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work tasks
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Represent and promote Grayson Carter and Son in a professional and honest manner

Job Qualifications/Requirements:

• CDL Class A Required
• Must be able to drive all trucks
• Hazmat Endorsement and tanker endorsement
• Knowledge of DOT Rules and Regulations
• Ability to communicate and convey information effectively
• Must be physically able to stand, walk, sit, crouch, kneel, climb, and periodically lift 75 pounds
• Knowledge of OSHA Standards
• Ability to obtain Arsenal Badge and FBI Badge preferred, but not required
• Dependable transportation
• Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on all job sites as required
• Work weekends and overtime as needed
• Committed to attending work each day
• Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
