Founded in 2004, Myrtle Beach Building Supply operates locations in Murrells Inlet and Little River, providing specialty building materials to customers along the coast of South Carolina.
The CDL Driver I delivers materials to job sites, inspects and maintains trucks, reports shortages and claims to supervisors, and assists in loading and storing materials. The role typically involves driving trucks with a capacity of more than three tons, but may also include less experienced CDL or tractor trailer drivers.
What you will do
- Operate safely.
- Participate in a positive work environment.
- Maintain a current Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License as required.
- Prepare DOT required logs of time on duty and driving.
- Organize and secure loads.
- Assist forklift operators when loading.
- Check orders for accuracy.
- Deliver and unload materials to customer satisfaction.
- Complete daily equipment pre-inspections.
- Record all merchandise returned by truck, and assist in unloading returned materials.
- Follow guidelines established by the Department of Transportation.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Relay messages from customers while on job sites.
- Assist supervisors and other employees as assigned.
- Maintain good housekeeping in yard and warehouse.
- Comply with all company policies and guidelines.
- Operate truck-mounted forklift safely and efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness of the truck.
- Participate in and complete assigned trainings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Basic CDL experience with flat beds and/or tractor trailers.
- 1-3 years CDL experience required for interstate commerce.
- Ability to do basic math, read orders, write instructions, and complete forms.
- Effective communication skills with customers, colleagues, and supervisors.
- Maintain current operator’s license and meet driver qualification requirements.
- Knowledge of safe lifting techniques.
- Proficiency with or ability to learn current technologies (e.g., Smartphone, GPS).
- Class A and B CDL Licenses required.
