Job summary

Phoenix Metals Company is seeking a truck driver to operate commercial vehicles over 26,001 lbs GVWR for regional/local deliveries. Home every day with a Monday-Friday schedule and a focus on safety and compliance.

Flatbed experience is preferred but not required; candidates must have a valid CDL, pass a road test, and meet FMCSA drug and alcohol requirements. The role involves daily vehicle inspections and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL license and road test required.
• FMCSA drug/alcohol clearinghouse compliance required.
• No drug violations in the past 5 years and SAP program completion for violations older than 5 years.
• Basic measurement and arithmetic skills for calculations.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate commercial vehicle over 26,001 lbs GVWR to deliver or pick up goods regionally/local.
• Safely maneuver trucks into loading/unloading positions.
• Load and unload as required.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections per FMCSA requirements.
• Use an electronic logging device (ELD) to log daily activities per FMCSA.
• Read bills of lading and manifests to determine assignment details.
• Ensure load documentation is complete and obtain receipts or signatures.
• Adhere to safety processes and protocols.
