POSITION PURPOSE

CDL Driver - Heavy Haul Transport must hold a valid Class A CDL driver license. Experience driving Lowboy Trailer to transport Heavy Equipment used in the Construction Industry.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform duties with Sunland's Core Values at the forefront.
• Work quickly, productively, and safely to meet production goals as outlined by the Foreman, Superintendent, and/or Production Manager.
• Follow directions of the Foreman and/or Superintendent regarding daily production schedule and activities.
• Advocate for safety and follow safety policies and procedures.
• Participate in jobsite and safety meetings and all Company related training.
• Ensure the jobsite is safe and traffic is controlled prior to work.
• Communicate constantly with Operators, truck drivers, and laborers.
• Inspect, clean, and maintain equipment and machinery.
• Report problems and malfunctions to supervisor and/or shop personnel.
• Set up and tear down equipment if needed.
• Maintain a clean job site, including tools and equipment.
• Handle materials in compliance with SDS sheets.
• Coordinate with contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors to complete jobs.
• Serve as a front-line Company representative, providing excellent service to customers and the public.
• Use various hand tools as needed.
• Perform general laborer work as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned; duties may change at any time.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Safety

• This is a safety-sensitive position subject to drug and alcohol policies and OSHA regulations.
• Wear appropriate PPE.
• Comply with safety laws and policies, enforce safe practices, and identify hazards.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Operate at construction sites, communicate verbally, read materials, and handle objects up to 50 pounds.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions, sometimes for long periods.
• Exposure to chemicals, pollutants, noise, moving vehicles, dust, and debris.

Position Type/Expected Hours

• Full-time; occasional evening and weekend work.
• Willing to travel and stay away from home if necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 6 months to 1 year related experience preferred.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English preferred.

Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations

• Current driver's license preferred.
• Clean motor-vehicle record if operating a company vehicle.
• Pass pre-employment drug and background checks.

Additional CDL Driver Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL license in the state of work required.
• Hazmat or tanker endorsement may be required.
• Pass DOT physical and maintain a current medical card.
• Pass DOT drug test and safety road test.
