Job summary

Prestage Farms is seeking a CDL driver to safely and efficiently deliver hogs from farms to the plant. This full-time role operates Monday through Friday with some weekends as needed.

The driver will maneuver trucks, comply with regulations, log hours, plan routes, and perform vehicle inspections. Applicants must have CDL-A, 1 year driving experience or trucking school certificate, and be 21 or older. ADA accommodations may apply and competitive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and occasionally 100 lbs.
• Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.
• Extensive knowledge of truck driving rules and regulations.
• Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations.

Job description

Prestage Farms is looking for a CDL truck driver to safety and efficiently deliver hogs from the farms to the plant. This is a full‑time position which consists of Monday through Friday and some weekends.

Responsibilities

• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
• Document and log work/rest periods.
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. & occasionally up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
• No recent moving or driving violations.
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc).
• Willing to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment recommendations.
• one year driving experience or Trucking School Certificate.
• Valid Commercial driver license class A.
• must be 21 years old or older.

ADA REQUIREMENTS: Ability to walk, stoop, bend, climb, repetitive motions, see and distinguish colors, and hear.
