Job summary

Aramark is seeking a Driver II in Tempe, AZ, to operate passenger transport vehicles with a Class B or C CDL. You will conduct daily inspections, ensure passenger safety, and provide excellent guest service across routes with minimal travel.

A valid CDL, clean driving record, and DOT medical card are required. Responsibilities include vehicle maintenance, safety reporting, logbook accuracy, and coordination with dispatch for special requests.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• 1+ year of professional driving experience and vehicle mechanical experience preferred, plus customer service experience.
• Must communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
• Must have a valid Commercial Driver License (Class B or C) with a clean driving record showing 5 years of prior safe driving.
• Must pass a DOT physical exam and obtain a medical card.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol test and participate in the random drug/alcohol testing pool.
• Must complete and pass Defensive Driving Course prior to driving a company vehicle.
• Passenger endorsement or airbrake endorsement may be required to drive all vehicles.
• Experience driving in all weather conditions including winter weather and tire chain installation.
• Travel requirements: Little travel required (less than 10%).

Responsibilities

• Must complete a daily vehicle inspection form prior to driving and after finishing the route.
• Ensure a pleasant and clean atmosphere in and out of the vehicle.
• Apply safety equipment and wear seat belts while driving.
• Operate vehicles under 26,000 lb GVW transporting passengers or supplies.
• Drive defensively, safely, and cautiously in all situations.
• Provide exceptional customer service to guests and represent the company well.
• Pickup and drop off guests at designated locations.
• Act as a concierge resource, being knowledgeable about the property and surrounding areas.
• Lift guest luggage up to 80 lb when required.
• Fuel, clean, and inspect the vehicle as needed.
• Identify and report maintenance and safety issues immediately.
• Complete vehicle logbooks accurately with rider information.
• Coordinate with Transportation Office dispatcher for special or group requests.
• May work as warehouse driver transporting equipment.
• Assist with maintenance and safety inspections on service trucks and equipment.
• Take vehicles to car washes when necessary.
• May assist with clerical work and dispatcher duties.
• May dispense propane following safety regulations where applicable.
• Occasionally operate a cash register and handle payments securely.
• Understand machinery and chemicals used; read SDS sheets as needed.
• Attend all scheduled safety meetings and share ideas to improve efficiency.
• Follow all safety, security, and road rules and company policies.
