Job summary

About Your Role

The CDL Driver is responsible for providing safe, reliable, and efficient transportation services in support of university operations, construction programs, and project teams. This position plays a critical role in transporting personnel, contractors, visitors, and materials throughout facilities while ensuring compliance with all university safety, security, and operational requirements. The successful candidate will maintain professional standards of customer service, vehicle operation, and regulatory compliance in a dynamic airport environment.

Education Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Required Certifications
  • Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Passenger (P) Endorsement required.
  • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience operating commercial passenger vehicles.
  • Experience transporting contractors and project staff.

  • Ability to work flexible schedules.

  • Experience operating shuttle buses, crew vans, passenger transport vehicles, or commercial buses.

What You'll Do
  • Safely transport contractors, visitors, and stakeholders throughout university facilities and designated operational areas.
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections and complete required vehicle condition reports.
  • Ensure compliance with university safety, security, traffic, and operational regulations.
  • Coordinate transportation schedules and assignments with project management teams.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle logs, mileage records, fuel usage reports, and maintenance documentation.
  • Assist with the transportation of materials, equipment, and supplies as operational needs require.
  • Support emergency response activities and special operational requirements.
  • Report accidents, incidents, hazards, maintenance concerns, and safety issues immediately.
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service while interacting with staff, contractors, passengers, and project stakeholders.
  • Maintain awareness of ongoing construction activities, restricted access areas, and changing traffic patterns throughout the university.
  • Assist with special transportation requests and operational support assignments as directed.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Salary
  • $25.00 per hour

Compensation is based on qualifications, experience, skills, certifications, and other job-related factors.

A bonus may be granted to employees depending on individual performance, employee utilization, attendance, tenure, and furtherance of other non-financial corporate goals; bonus opportunities are available at management’s discretion.
