Job summary

Rhode Island Community Food Bank is seeking a full-time Driver in Providence, RI. You will deliver agency orders, help with loading/unloading, and participate in community events requiring transportation.

The position requires a CDL (A/B), ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and strong communication. You will also assist with warehousing tasks and maintain essential paperwork for compliance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of trucking procedures and a Class A or B CDL is required.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying conditions.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.
• Forklift certification and charity warehousing experience preferred or willingness to be certified.
• Experience with food warehousing and distribution is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver agency orders and participate in events requiring transportation.
• Load and unload shipments; ensure correct deliveries and sign for orders.
• Maintain logs, temperatures, and related paperwork for cold storage items.
• Report vehicle maintenance issues to the Transportation Management Team.
• Assist in safety training and procedures for vehicle use.
• Represent the food bank to donors and agencies along delivery routes.
• Provide general warehouse support and keep the warehouse compliant with codes.
