Job summary

Sehlhorst Equipment Services (SES) is seeking an experienced Class A CDL Driver with flatbed and heavy equipment hauling expertise. You will transport heavy equipment and materials between SES facilities and job sites, ensuring secure loading and safe operations in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B CDL required.
• Minimum 3 years of CDL driving experience.
• Flatbed and heavy equipment hauling experience.
• Experience with RGN trailers preferred.
• Properly secure and transport heavy equipment.
• Clean driving record and knowledge of DOT regulations.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Operate flatbed and equipment trailers to transport heavy construction equipment.
• Safely load, secure, transport, and unload equipment such as excavators and loaders.
• Chain, strap, and secure equipment per DOT requirements.
• Maintain daily vehicle inspections and DOT documentation.
• Communicate with dispatch and jobsite personnel to coordinate deliveries.

Sehlhorst Equipment Services (SES) is looking for an experienced Class A CDL Driver with flatbed and heavy equipment hauling experience to join our growing team.

This position is responsible for safely transporting heavy equipment, construction materials, and jobsite supplies between SES facilities and construction jobsites. The ideal candidate is an experienced, safety-minded driver who is comfortable securing and transporting heavy equipment and operating various tractor/trailer combinations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate
  flatbed and equipment trailers to transport heavy construction equipment and materials.
• Safely load, secure, transport, and unload heavy equipment such as excavators, skid steers, loaders, trench boxes, and other construction equipment.
• Properly chain, strap, and secure equipment in accordance with DOT requirements.
• Operate RGN trailers for hauling heavy equipment.
• Transport jobsite materials including pipe, lumber, fencing, trench boxes, and other construction materials.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers.
• Communicate with the Fleet Dispatcher and jobsite personnel regarding deliveries, pickups, and transportation needs.
• Maintain required DOT documentation and comply with all applicable safety regulations.
• Report any vehicle, trailer, or equipment issues promptly.
• Assist with loading/unloading and general jobsite needs as necessary.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Class A CDL driving experience - REQUIRED
• Flatbed and heavy equipment hauling experience - REQUIRED
• Experience operating an RGN trailer strongly preferred
• Experience properly securing and transporting heavy equipment.
• Clean driving record.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and ability to identify equipment issues.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Construction industry experience preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors and in various weather conditions.
