Job summary

Extech Building Materials Corp in Newark, NJ is seeking an experienced truck driver for full-time day shifts. You will transport goods between locations, perform pre-trip inspections, and maintain logs of hours and miles in compliance with FMCSA rules.

You will ensure loads are verified and delivered according to instructions, operate GPS and CB radio equipment, and adapt to traffic or weather conditions while prioritizing safety and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, CB, etc.)
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
• No recent moving or driving violations
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.)

Responsibilities

• Transport goods from one location to another.
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical and safety issues. Pre-trip and post trip inspection.
• Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts (ELD)
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (FMCSA) as well as with company policies and procedures
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Collect and verify the load and follow delivery instructions
