The Role: Xylem seeks to hire a Class A Driver to be responsible for the delivery and set-up of pumping equipment in a safe, efficient and professional manner at the customer job site. This position helps support Oil and Gas field operations day-to-day 24/7 operations. Be able to operate Class A trucks and other heavy equipment in various locations in WV and OH with the ability to chain and rig heavy machines. Will be based in Clarksburg, WV. The Class A Driver with HAZMAT will also be responsible for the pickup of equipment from the customer job site at the end of the contract rental period. Drivers are responsible for recording those transactions accurately on Rental Contracts and Sales paperwork accordingly. When not engaged in driving responsibilities, the CDL Driver will assist in duties in the yard and perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

1. Assist yard and field personnel in loading and unloading trucks with pumping equipment.
2. Secure all items loaded on the truck for safe over-the-road travel in accordance with Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration (FMCSA), Federal Department of Transportation, and local Department of Transportation guidelines.
3. Review all items to be delivered (or picked up) with customer to ensure completeness and accuracy.
4. Obtain customer’s signature on Rental Contract paperwork.
5. Maintain presence of all required driver documents (licenses, medical cards, etc.) at all times.
6. Maintain log books with entries for driving, on-duty, etc. in accordance with DOT guidelines.
7. Maintain mileage and fuel logs as required.
8. Perform daily visual inspections of delivery equipment and document any items in need of service.
9. Comply with all company and customer safety requirements.
10. Maintain communication with Dispatch at all times as to location, estimated arrival/departure times, and any potential issues.
11. Assist in the set-up of pumping equipment as necessary.
12. Assist customer with start-up instructions as needed or requested.
13. Available for rotating on-call schedule for off-hours emergency driving assignments.
14. Assist as needed in preparing rental equipment for dispatch and ensuring yard is organized and maintained.
15. Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. One to two years’ experience in the construction industry preferred.
2. Class A Commercial License preferred.
3. Experience with flatbed trailers and proper load securement techniques (chaining, strapping, etc.).
4. Valid state issued Commercial Driver License.
5. Acceptable driving record.
6. Current Department of Transportation medical card.
7. Ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions.
8. Aptitude for basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide).
9. Ability to read a map.
10. Ability to complete basic mechanical tasks.
11. Ability to operate a commercial vehicle in accordance with Commercial Class license for extended periods of time, in all weather conditions, on back roads, 2-lane highways, major highways, interstates (including tunnels and bridges), through towns, municipalities, cities, and customer job sites.
