Job summary

Yzer Fleet, LLC seeks an experienced CDL Line Haul A Driver to join our Indiana team. The role involves transporting freight safely on long-distance routes, conducting inspections, and ensuring DOT compliance while delivering top-tier service.

This full-time, non-exempt position typically entails 40 hours weekly with overtime as needed. Base pay is around $30 per hour, with comprehensive benefits and a professional, safety-driven work environment.

Qualifications

  • CDL-A valid and in good standing.
  • Minimum age 21+ (varies by policy).
  • 3 years of verifiable Class A tractor-trailer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate Class A trucks on long-distance routes, with overnight work as needed.
  • Perform pre-trip, in-route, and post-trip inspections per DOT rules.
  • Ensure timely deliveries and adherence to traffic laws and company policies.
  • Secure freight with straps/load bars to prevent shifting during transit.
  • Maintain accurate records using ELDs and required documents.
  • Communicate route status and issues with dispatch and terminal staff.
  • Refuel and keep the vehicle clean; report mechanical issues promptly.
  • Follow safety protocols and wear PPE at all sites.
  • Assist with loading/unloading when required by the route.
  • Represent the company professionally during deliveries.

Description

Yzer Fleet, LLC seeking an experienced and safety-focused CDL Line Haul A Driver with a proven track record of transporting freight efficiently and on time over long distances. Skilled in operating Class A commercial vehicles, performing pre- and post-trip inspections, and ensuring compliance with DOT regulations. Committed to maintaining a high standard of professionalism, customer service, and on-time delivery performance. Strong understanding of route planning, freight handling, and electronic logging systems. Reliable, self-motivated, and dedicated to upholding safety and operational excellence.

Hours: 40 standard, however additional hours will be necessary based on customer needs.

Requirements
Job Responsibilities
  • Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles to transport freight between terminals or customer locations, typically overnight or long-distance routes.
  • Perform thorough pre-trip, in-route, and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate deliveries while maintaining adherence to all traffic laws and company policies.
  • Secure freight properly using straps, load bars, or other equipment to prevent shifting during transit.
  • Maintain accurate records using electronic logging devices (ELDs) and other required documentation (e.g., bills of lading, delivery receipts).
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, terminal staff, and other team members regarding route status, delays, or issues.
  • Refuel and maintain vehicle cleanliness, reporting any mechanical issues immediately.
  • Follow all safety protocols and use PPE as required at terminals and customer sites.
  • Occasionally assist with loading or unloading freight, depending on route and customer needs.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner while delivering excellent customer service.
Qualifications
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A)
    Must be in good standing and issued by the state of residence.
  • Minimum Age Requirement
    Usually 21 years or older (may vary by company and insurance policy).
  • Driving Experience
    3 years of recent verifiable Class A tractor-trailer driving experience preferred (some companies may accept recent CDL school graduates for entry-level roles).
  • Clean Driving Record
    No major violations, DUIs, or preventable accidents in the past 3–5 years.
  • DOT Medical Certification
    Must hold a current and valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
  • Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA Regulations
    Familiarity with Hours of Service (HOS) rules, ELD usage, and all applicable safety standards.
  • Ability to Operate Manual and Automatic Transmissions
    Depending on fleet equipment (some companies may require manual shifting skills).
