Job summary

Yzer Fleet, LLC is seeking an experienced CDL-A Line Haul Driver based in Holt, MI. This role involves overnight and long-distance freight transport, with emphasis on safety, timeliness, and customer service.

You will perform rigorous vehicle inspections, manage securement of cargo, and maintain compliant records using ELDs. The position requires a Class A license, a clean driving record, DOT medical certification, and the ability to operate both manual and automatic transmissions.

Qualifications

• CDL-A required and in good standing (state issued).
• Minimum 3 years of verifiable Class A tractor-trailer experience preferred.
• Must meet DOT Medical Certification requirements.
• Knowledge of Hours of Service rules and compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class A trucks, overnight or long-distance routes.
• Perform pre-trip, in-route, and post-trip inspections per DOT rules.
• Ensure on-time, accurate deliveries and adherence to traffic laws and company policy.
• Secure freight using straps or load bars to prevent shifting.
• Maintain records with ELDs and delivery receipts.
• Communicate route status, delays, or issues with dispatch and terminals.
• Refuel and maintain vehicle cleanliness; report issues promptly.
• Follow safety protocols and use PPE at terminals and sites.
• Assist with loading/unloading as needed by route requirements.
• Represent Yzer Fleet, LLC professionally during customer interactions.

Yzer Fleet, LLC seeking an e xperienced and safety-focused CDL Line Haul A Driver with a proven track record of transporting freight efficiently and on time over long distances. Skilled in operating Class A commercial vehicles, performing pre- and post-trip inspections, and ensuring compliance with DOT regulations. Committed to maintaining a high standard of professionalism, customer service, and on-time delivery performance. Strong understanding of route planning, freight handling, and electronic logging systems. Reliable, self-motivated, and dedicated to upholding safety and operational excellence.

Hours: 40 standard, however additional hours will be necessary based on customer needs.

Requirements

Job Responsibilities:

• Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles to transport freight between terminals or customer locations, typically overnight or long-distance routes.
• Perform thorough pre-trip, in-route, and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT regulations.
• Ensure timely and accurate deliveries while maintaining adherence to all traffic laws and company policies.
• Secure freight properly using straps, load bars, or other equipment to prevent shifting during transit.
• Maintain accurate records using electronic logging devices (ELDs) and other required documentation (e.g., bills of lading, delivery receipts).
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, terminal staff, and other team members regarding route status, delays, or issues.
• Refuel and maintain vehicle cleanliness, reporting any mechanical issues immediately.
• Follow all safety protocols and use PPE as required at terminals and customer sites.
• Occasionally assist with loading or unloading freight, depending on route and customer needs.
• Represent the company in a professional manner while delivering excellent customer service.

Summary

Qualifications:

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A) Must be in good standing and issued by the state of residence.
• Minimum Age Requirement Usually 21 years or older (may vary by company and insurance policy).
• Driving Experience 3 years of recent verifiable Class A tractor-trailer driving experience preferred (some companies may accept recent CDL school graduates for entry‑level roles).
• Clean Driving Record No major violations, DUIs, or preventable accidents in the past 3–5 years.
• DOT Medical Certification Must hold a current and valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
• Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA Regulations Familiarity with Hours of Service (HOS) rules, ELD usage, and all applicable safety standards.
• Ability to Operate Manual and Automatic Transmissions Depending on fleet equipment (some companies may require manual shifting skills).
