Job summary

Cowtown Materials, Inc in Winston-Salem is seeking a dedicated Delivery Driver to operate a commercial motor vehicle. This role entails loading and unloading materials at various job sites while providing exceptional customer service and ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.

Qualifications

Job description

Position Summary

The primary function of a delivery driver is to safely and efficiently operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with company policies along with Federal and State regulations and delivers all freight undamaged. Work as a team player to deliver, load/unload materials while providing a world class customer service experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Inspect truck/trailer for defects for safe operation.
• Safely load building materials onto flatbed or boom truck and unload products at commercial and residential job sites.
• Deliver materials to assigned area as directed by the customer while prioritizing personal safety and the safety of others.
• Maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations.
• Report all accidents involving driver or company equipment.
• Lift heavy building materials up to 100+ lbs. for load/unload.
• Provide excellent customer service with a professional attitude.

Basic Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL).
• Minimum Class B License; Class A preferred.
• Clear three (3) year Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
• Overall knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations.

Physical Requirements

• Remain stationary while driving a commercial vehicle 40% of the time.
• Lift heavy building materials up to 80 lbs. for loading/unloading.
• Frequently move materials weighing up to 80 lbs. while unloading a flatbed.
• Constantly move from unloading materials from commercial vehicle onto job site.
• Constantly operate commercial vehicle and/or boom vehicle.
• Constantly position self to unload materials from flatbed or boom.
• Judge distance while delivering materials and/or operating boom.
• Communicate with management and coworkers and exchange accurate information in these situations.
• Work outdoors while making deliveries.
