Job summary

Mill Creek Lumber is hiring a Delivery Driver with a CDL A for a Mon-Fri schedule in Tulsa, OK. You will drive the company vehicle to deliver lumber and building materials, verify orders, and assist in loading and stock.

You will maintain vehicle appearance, perform safety checks, assist yard and warehouse staff, and follow all safety standards and store procedures. Customer service is integral, including handling questions and ensuring accurate deliveries.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class A CDL.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Strong communication with customers and teammates.
• Basic math skills for measurements and units.
• Ability to follow procedures and safety rules.
• Forklift certification per company training.
• English language proficiency to communicate with the public.
• Physically capable of operating a CMV as per FMCSR.

Responsibilities

• Drive company vehicle to deliver lumber and building materials to customers’ homes, sites, or businesses.
• Verify order details and obtain customer signatures.
• Record delivery information for tracking and reports.
• Collect and organize delivery paperwork.
• Provide courteous, professional service and address customer questions.
• Report customer complaints or requests promptly.
• Load and unload materials safely.
• Maintain and inspect delivery vehicles’ interior and exterior.
• Support yard/warehouse with stocking and organizing materials.
• Assist customers with loading and product questions when not driving.
• Follow SOPs and safety standards at all times.
• Comply with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Attend store meetings and training sessions.

Mill Creek Lumber is looking for a reliable Delivery Driver with a CDL A. This position allows the driver to work a consistent Mon-Fri work week. However, this role involves more than just driving.

• Drive company vehicle to deliver lumber & building materials, as well as hardware and other building supplies to customer's home, construction site or place of business


• Verify order details and obtain customer signature


• Record all pertinent delivery information as needed for accurate tracking


• Collect and organize required paperwork for delivery and transfer activity


• Treat all customers with courtesy and respect, including listening to and assisting in resolving customer complaints


• Report customer complaints or requests in a timely manner


• Collect or picks up empty containers, rejected merchandise from delivery sites as directed


• Load vehicle safely and accurately


• Maintain the appearance of the inside and outside of delivery vehicles


• Perform routine safety check on vehicles


• Assist yard and warehouse with stocking, loading and organizing materials


• Assist customers with loading material and product questions when not driving


• Follow Standard Operating Procedures while carrying out the responsibilities of position


• Comply with all company safety standards, and all federal, state, and local laws


• Attend all store meetings and training sessions.

Qualifications

• Class A CDL required


• Ability to read and comprehend instructions.

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions

• Must be able to meet the driver eligibility guidelines of the Company


• Must successfully complete all Company training and certification requirements regarding equipment usage, including obtaining forklift certification


• Can read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway signs and signals and to respond to official inquiries


• Can safely operate the type of commercial motor vehicle he/she drives


• Is physically qualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle in accordance with FMCSR requirements
