Job summary

QXO is seeking a motivated CDL driver to join our Rockford, IL team. You will perform touch-freight tasks, pre-inspect and load materials, and ensure load accuracy while maintaining open communication with dispatch for timely deliveries.

Applicants must have a valid CDL (Class A or B), at least 12 months of verifiable commercial driving experience, and be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions. Safety PPE usage is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Requires a Valid Class A or B CDL license in good standing.
• Minimum 12 months verifiable commercial driving experience.
• Experience operating heavy equipment and driving a manual transmission truck.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather.

Responsibilities

• Perform touch-freight tasks, lifting, moving, or carrying products weighing over 75 lbs.
• Pre-inspect the truck, load materials, and verify the load accuracy.
• Notify branch management of potential hazards on site.
• Set up job parameters and inspect the site for safe loading/unloading.
• Maintain regular communication with the dispatcher for timely delivery.
• Follow DOT and company safety procedures, and wear PPE.

What you'll do:

• Perform touch-freight tasks, which may require lifting, moving, or carrying products weighing over 75 lbs
• Pre-inspect the truck, load materials, and verify the accuracy of the load
• Notify branch management of any potential hazards on site
• Set up job parameters and inspect the site to ensure a safe environment for loading and unloading
• Maintain regular communication with the dispatcher to ensure timely delivery of products
• Follow all DOT and company safety procedures, and always wear appropriate PPE

What you'll bring:

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Valid Class A or B CDL license in good standing
• At least 12 months of verifiable commercial driving experience
• Experience operating heavy equipment and driving a manual transmission truck
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
