Job summary

QXO in Maryland is hiring a professional truck driver to join our distribution team. The role involves delivering building products across North America, loading and unloading safely, and maintaining accurate loads while adhering to DOT rules.

You will work outdoors in all weather, operate manual transmission trucks, and coordinate with dispatch to meet tight schedules. We offer competitive pay, 401(k) with match, health benefits, PTO, and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class A or B CDL license.
• At least 12 months of verifiable commercial driving experience.
• Experience operating heavy equipment and manual transmission trucks.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform touch-freight tasks, lifting/moving heavy products up to 75 lbs+.
• Pre-inspect the truck, load materials, verify load accuracy.
• Notify branch management of potential hazards on site.
• Set up job parameters and inspect site for safe loading/unloading.
• Maintain regular communication with dispatcher to ensure timely delivery.
• Follow DOT and company safety procedures and wear PPE.

What you'll do:

• Perform touch‑freight tasks, which may require lifting, moving, or carrying products weighing over 75 lbs
• Pre‑inspect the truck, load materials, and verify the accuracy of the load
• Notify branch management of any potential hazards on site
• Set up job parameters and inspect the site to ensure a safe environment for loading and unloading
• Maintain regular communication with the dispatcher to ensure timely delivery of products
• Follow all DOT and company safety procedures, and always wear appropriate PPE

What you’ll bring:

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Valid Class A or B CDL license in good standing
• At least 12 months of verifiable commercial driving experience
• Experience operating heavy equipment and driving a manual transmission truck
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
