Job description

Indy Equipment and Supply is seeking a dedicated and professional CDL Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for loading and delivering construction supplies to both commercial and residential job sites using a Freightliner Moffett truck. This role requires a commitment to safety, customer service, and teamwork. During periods of downtime, the driver will assist in the store with loading and unloading customer orders and perform additional duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

• Loading and Delivery:

  • Safely load construction supplies onto the Freightliner Moffett truck, ensuring proper securing and handling of materials.
  • Deliver supplies to various job sites, adhering to designated routes and schedules.
  • Maintain accurate delivery records and complete necessary documentation for each delivery.

• Vehicle Operation:

  • Operate the Freightliner Moffett truck in accordance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Report any vehicle maintenance needs or safety concerns to management promptly.

• Customer Service:

  • Interact professionally with customers at job sites, providing assistance and ensuring satisfaction with deliveries.
  • Address any customer inquiries or concerns during delivery and communicate effectively with dispatch and management.

• Store Assistance:

  • During downtime, assist in the store by loading and unloading customer orders as they arrive.
  • Support store operations by restocking inventory and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations and customer service.

• Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management to support the overall operations of Indy Equipment and Supply.
  • Participate in training programs and safety meetings as required.

Qualifications:

• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
• Proven experience as a CDL driver, preferably in the construction supply or similar industry.
• Familiarity with Freightliner Moffett trucks and loading/unloading procedures.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with team members and customers.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy materials as needed.
• Basic knowledge of safety regulations and compliance measures related to driving and material handling.

Working Conditions:

• This position may require outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
• Extended periods of sitting while driving and physical labor during loading and unloading tasks.
• Occasional overtime may be necessary based on delivery schedules and business needs.
