The Opportunity:
The Class A CDL Driver / Shipping & Warehouse Operatoris responsible forthe safe and efficient transportation, receipt, storage, and shipment of finished goods and materials such as rolls, corrugated products, and corner boards. This role supports plant operations by ensuringaccuratedeliveries, verifying shipments,loadingand unloading trucks,maintaininginventory accuracy, and operating powered industrial equipment. A typical day includes transporting materials between locations, supporting customer deliveries,validatingshipping documentation and barcode accuracy, staging products for shipment, performing inventory activities, andmaintaininghousekeeping and 5S standards while upholding Smurfit Westrock core values, safety expectations, and quality requirements.
How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:
- Transport finished goods and raw materials safely while complying with all DOT regulations and company safety requirements.
- Load, unload, stage, and relocate products and materials using forklifts and other approved equipment.
- Verify manifests, case labels, barcodes, and shipping documentation to ensure accurate customer shipments and prevent product mix-ups.
- Support internal and external deliveries while maintaining excellent service levels and meeting delivery schedules.
- Perform cycle counts, physical inventories, inventory adjustments, and stock verification activities using Radius and other systems.
- Wrap and band finished goods pallets as needed to ensure secure shipment.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for accuracy and condition.
- Maintain organized warehouse locations and ensure products are stored correctly within racking systems.
- Follow all SQF, safety, quality, and operational procedures and actively participatein safety programs.
- Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards and complete additional duties assigned by management.
What you need to succeed:
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with a good driving record.
- Ability to obtain or maintain forklift/lift truck certification.
- Basic computer skills, including experience with email and warehouse or inventory systems such as AS400.
- Ability to use calculators, tape measures, rulers, and other basic measurement tools.
- Ability to accurately load, unload, receive, ship, and inventory materials.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively across departments.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical warehouse activities.
- Commitment to workplace safety, DOT compliance, SQF requirements, and company policies.
- Preferred: Previous experiencein shipping, warehousing, logistics, inventory control, or manufacturing environments.
Safety Requirements:
- Wear required PPE including safety glasses, steel/composite toe shoes, hearing protection, hair nets, beard nets, bump caps, and gloves as required.
- Follow all safety policies, Safety Absolutes, S.T.E.P. (Stop, Think, Evaluate and Plan), and safety participation programs.

Essential and Physical Requirements:
- Drive commercial vehicles and transport materials safely.
- Sit for extended periods while operating vehicles or completing computer-based tasks.
- Load, unload, wrap, band, and move materials and finished goods.

- Walk throughout shipping, warehousing, and production areas as needed.
