Job summary

Foundation Building Materials is seeking a CDL Driver for local routes in the Los Angeles area. You will safely operate vehicles up to 26 feet, perform pre-trip inspections, and deliver materials to customer sites with excellent service.

Responsibilities include unloading deliveries, verifying against packing slips, and maintaining a safe, organized warehouse environment. Forklift operation training may be required; strong safety adherence is expected.

  • Minimum 1-year consistent commercial driving experience

Position Overview

Responsibilities
  • Vehicle Operation
    • Safely operates company vehicles, including up to 26’ trucks, in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
    • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness
    • Deliver materials to customer project sites on time, providing excellent customer service
  • Delivery & Customer Service
    • Unload materials at delivery locations and verify deliveries against packing slips
    • Ensure deliveries are handled professionally and courteously, always representing the company positively
    • The ability to unload, protect, move and stage materials as specified by customer directive
    • Basic understanding and knowledge of building materials
  • Additional Training & Equipment
    • Basic understanding and knowledge of the operation of a forklift and other equipment; additional training such as Forklift and other specified equipment may be required
  • Safety
    • Adheres to all driving regulations based on state and/or jurisdiction policies such as wearing a seatbelt
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment
    • Follow all safety protocols and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements to maintain a safe working environment
    • Use proper lifting techniques
    • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, safety shoes and clothing
  • Communication
    • Must attend and participate in all required meetings in relation to material delivery and overall company operations
  • Training Requirements
    • Attend and participate in all required company training programs
  • Physical Job Requirements
    • Frequent use of hands and arms for equipment operation, grasping and manipulation
    • Frequent driving or sitting in a truck, forklift or other similar equipment for multiple hours a day
    • Occasionally lift and/or move 80 lbs. and climb ladders carrying up to 50 lbs
    • Pushing and pulling carts over various distances and surfaces. Some functions may be performed as a team
    • Must be able to learn how to operate a forklift and other company vehicles and must understand and be able to use miscellaneous tools and equipment, including but not limited to: dollies, flat carts, and rock carts
    • Additional physical requirements may be needed as duties are assigned

The listed pay range reflects the expected base rate for this position; actual compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and cost of living in the assigned market. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.

  • Base: $30.00-35.00 per hour
