Job summary

Responsibilities

• Safely operate company vehicles on scheduled routes or as assigned.
• Ensure passengers are picked up and dropped off on time at designated locations.
• Provide assistance to individuals with disabilities getting on and off the vehicle.
• Position the vehicle and operate wheelchair lifts safely.
• Track passenger counts and report absences daily.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report concerns.
• Follow traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Maintain records of passenger counts and vehicle inspections.
• Communicate effectively with management, passengers and guardians regarding schedules and delays.
• Provide excellent customer service by being courteous and responsive to passengers.
• Report rider attendance and vehicle safety checks as required.
• Report incidents to management promptly.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $14.50 To $16.00 Hourly

The following duties are primarily performed and are essential for this position. Employees are expected to be able to perform each of these job duties satisfactorily and successfully to be qualified for the position. Other duties may be required and assigned.

• Safely operate company vehicles (e.g., vans, buses, or cars) to transport passengers on scheduled routes or as assigned.
• Ensure passengers are picked up and dropped off on time at designated locations.
• Provide assistance to individuals with disabilities getting on and off the vehicle as necessary, including securing seatbelts and wheelchair tie-down devices to ensure a safe ride.
• Properly position the vehicle and safely operate wheelchair lifts.
• Track passenger counts and report absent or no-show riders daily.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting mechanical or safety concerns.
• Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Maintain accurate records of passenger counts, attendance, vehicle inspections, and any reports related to repairs or incidents.
• Communicate effectively with management, employees, passengers and parents/guardians regarding schedules, delays, or route changes.
• Provide excellent customer service by being courteous, professional, and responsive to passenger needs.
• Report rider attendance, vehicle safety checks, or reports for vehicle repair.
• Report participant incidents, accidents, medical events (including seizures and illnesses), and behavior concerns to management promptly
• Perform additional duties as assigned by appropriate authority.
