Job summary

Dormont Manufacturing Co in Jamesburg, NJ is looking for an experienced truck driver to operate heavy-load trucks safely. The role requires a minimum of 2 years of driving experience and proficiency in manual transmission trucks.

Additionally, candidates must possess a CDL and complete a background check. The benefits package includes medical, vision, and other insurances. This full-time position may require overtime based on business needs.

Qualifications

• Travel is required for this position.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check is mandatory.

OVERVIEW

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Safely operate a heavy-load truck.
• Ensure all material is properly secured at the beginning of the shift and continuously monitor after each delivery.
• Ensure that all customer supporting paperwork is completed and returned at the end of each shift.
• Collect, document, and properly secure money received to ensure alignment with customer paperwork.
• Report any issues or incidents related to material damage or customer matters to dispatch.
• Perform the daily truck inspection, pre- and post-trip (DVIR).
• Seek advice and guidance on non-routine or problem areas from supervisor.
• Perform and document inspections to ensure truck and equipment are kept in good condition.

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years of truck driving experience with a proven track record of safe driving.
• Possession of a CDL (type A or B) Commercial driver’s license.
• Proficient in driving manual transmission trucks.
• Capability to operate a gate lift.
• Proficiency in operating an electric pallet jack.
• Experience in handling commercial and residential deliveries.
• Ability to service all region’s distribution centers.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Travel is required for this position.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
• Minimum of 5 years of forklift experience
• Minimum of 5 years of truck driving experience with a proven track record of safe driving.
