Job summary

PACE Supply Corp. in Hawaii is seeking an experienced CDL driver to ensure accurate and timely delivery of materials across the region. You will represent PACE Supply on the road, uphold safety standards, and maintain professional conduct at delivery sites.

Qualifications

  • Valid Hawaii Class B or Class A CDL and at least 21 years of age.
  • Clean driving record; pass background check and drug test.
  • Must obtain a Medical Examiner’s Certificate and be registered with the FMCSA Clearinghouse.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience with Class B or A vehicles; prior delivery experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of commercial driving laws and safety procedures.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and long driving hours.
  • Able to work Monday–Friday with overtime flexibility.
  • Basic English reading/writing/verbal communication.
  • Good organizational skills for grouping/sorting items.

Responsibilities

  • Route Planning – plan delivery routes considering traffic and weather for timely deliveries.
  • Loading and Unloading – assist with loading/unloading and secure cargo.
  • Vehicle Inspections – perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections for roadworthiness.
  • Communication – coordinate with dispatch and customers for schedules and updates.
  • Documentation Management – maintain delivery logs and bills of lading.
  • Regulatory Compliance – adhere to hours-of-service and safety standards.
  • Vehicle Security – ensure vehicle and cargo are secured.
  • Maintenance Reporting – report maintenance needs promptly.
  • Vehicle Cleanliness – keep vehicle clean for safety and professional appearance.

Position Overview

As a CDL Driver, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of materials to our customers throughout the region. You’ll represent PACE Supply on the road and at delivery sites, making professionalism, reliability, and a strong commitment to safety essential in this role.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with opportunities for overtime.

Core Duties
  • Route Planning – Strategically plan delivery routes, taking into account traffic, weather, and road conditions to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Loading and Unloading – Assist with the loading and unloading of cargo, ensuring items are properly secured to prevent damage during transit.
  • Vehicle Inspections – Perform thorough pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections to identify any mechanical or safety issues, ensuring the vehicle is roadworthy.
  • Communication – Coordinate with dispatch and customers to confirm delivery schedules, adjust for changes, and provide updates as needed.
  • Documentation Management – Maintain accurate delivery logs, bills of lading, and other required documentation, ensuring all records are compliant with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Regulatory Compliance – Adhere to hours-of-service regulations, taking required breaks to ensure compliance with safety standards and avoid fatigue‑related risks.
  • Vehicle Security – Ensure that the vehicle and its cargo are properly secured and safe for operation at all times.
  • Maintenance Reporting – Report any maintenance or repair needs promptly to ensure vehicles remain in optimal operating condition.
  • Vehicle Cleanliness – Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, both inside and out, to uphold a professional appearance and ensure safety.
Qualifications
  • A high school diploma (or equivalent) is preferred, though a combination of education and experience that provides the necessary skills and knowledge for successful job performance will qualify.
  • Must possess a valid Hawaii Class B or Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and be at least 21 years of age.
  • A clean driving record is required, along with the ability to pass a background check and drug test.
  • Must be able to obtain a Medical Examiner’s Certificate and be registered with the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience operating Class B or A commercial vehicles and/or relevant training. Prior delivery experience in wholesale or warehouse environments is strongly preferred.
  • Previous warehouse or distribution experience is beneficial but not required.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills are essential.
  • Solid knowledge of commercial driving laws and regulations, including safety procedures and accident protocols.
  • Physically capable of long driving hours and regular lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work a Monday‑Friday schedule with flexibility for overtime as needed.
  • Basic proficiency in English for reading, writing, and verbal communication.
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to group, sort, and sequence items effectively (e.g., by size, alphabetically, or numerically).

  • Prolonged periods of standing or sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Environmental Conditions

  • The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
  • Occasionally, the employee may be exposed to high, precarious places and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
