Job summary

Dexter is seeking an experienced Class A CDL truck driver to join our logistics team. You will deliver trailer parts and related products, often on long hauls, across intercity routes to customers while maintaining safety and on-time performance.

This role requires adherence to DOT regulations, flatbed experience, and the ability to tarp loads, log activities, and report incidents promptly. Dexter offers a competitive wage, full benefits, 401(k) matching, paid holidays and PTO, and opportunities

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL and at least 1 year of flatbed/truck driving experience.
• Clean driving record with no DWI/DUI in 10 years.
• Ability to drive long hours and travel across states.

Responsibilities

• Deliver trailer parts and related products while operating a tractor-trailer truck, sometimes intercity across several states.
• Tarps loads as needed and records cargo details.
• Drive long distances and report incidents to a dispatcher.
• Monitor road conditions and traffic, following all laws.
• Inspect trailer before/after trips and log any defects.
• Follow accident procedures if an incident occurs.
• Keep a log of activities and report mechanical problems.
• Take rest periods during trips and take precautions while driving.

What You\'ll Be Doing

• Flatbed experience preferred.
• Deliver trailer and trailer products while operating a tractor-trailer truck, sometimes over intercity routes or spanning several states to customers timely.
• Must be willing and able to tarp loads as needed.
• Record amount and type of cargo being delivered.
• Drive flatbed truck long distances.
• Report to a dispatcher any incidents encountered on the road.
• Monitor road conditions and watch for traffic congestion.
• Follow all applicable traffic laws.
• Inspect their trailer before and after the trip and record any defects they find.
• Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs.
• Keep a log of activities.
• Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel.
• Take rest periods during trip, take special precautions while driving.

What We\'re Looking For

• Must be 21+ years of age.
• Valid Class A CDL Required.
• 1 year experience, including manual.
• Proven working experience as a commercial truck driver.
• Clean driving record - No DWI/DUI in the last 10 years.
• Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.
• Knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
