Responsibilities

• Safely load and secure heavy equipment for transport.
• Operate construction/paving equipment as required.
• Perform daily safety checks of equipment and fluids.
• Notify supervisor if vehicle or equipment requires repair.
• Ensure compliance with DOT permitting guidelines.

General Description

The CDL driver is responsible for safely loading and securing heavy equipment to move from jobsite. This job description may also perform a wide variety of tasks, transferring from one task to another as the workflow dictates.

Key Duties

• Familiarity with the safe operation of construction and/or paving equipment
• Responsible for the safe loading and unloading of heavy equipment
• Knowledge of all USDOT and FMCSA regulations
• Perform daily safety checks of fluid levels for leaks and damage prior to operation
• Notify supervisor if vehicle requires repair
• Ability to calculate weights of equipment with truck/trailer combo to stay within DOT permitting restrictions and guidelines
• Ability to safely drive a water truck, flat bed and/or other commercial vehicles as required
• Flexibility with schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changes

Requirements
