CDL Truck Driver

Location: Montgomery, AL, 36104

The CDL Driver is responsible for all pre-and-post trip inspections of on- and off-road equipment and understands the laws pertaining to the safe transportation of heavy equipment.

Duties:

Always obey all safety requirements and procedures

Comply with all state and federal requirements for operating and transporting equipment in a commercial vehicle.

Secure loads in accordance with laws and regulations pertaining to the safe transportation of heavy equipment

Operate vehicles and equipment safely and efficiently

Ensure pre and post operational checks to ensure equipment is in good working order

Perform routine maintenance on equipment, such as changing oil and checking fluids

Use hand tools to move earth, materials, and other heavy objects

Communicate with other workers to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and effectively

Keep accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance, and repairs

Perform Additional Duties And Responsibilities As Assigned

Requirements:

Must possess a valid CDL license and DOT Medical Card

Must be able to load and secure loads and understand the laws pertaining to the safe transportation of heavy equipment

Proficient in the use of commercial vehicles for transporting heavy equipment

Must possess knowledge and understanding of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations to ensure compliance

Proficient in the use of hand tools and equipment

Excellent problem-solving skills

Strong attention to detail

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Must be available to respond to calls promptly and work overtime as required to meet business needs

Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):

Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including securing loads with chains, straps, or binders

Walking particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another frequently throughout the day

Must be able to walk rail track for long distances (1/8 mile or more)

Frequently standing, bending, stooping, reaching and climbing to perform tasks

Must be able lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds

Must be able to climb into and out of rail equipment such as dump trucks and other heavy equipment. Must be able to climb additional height into equipment when it is on the rail

Must be able to perform groundwork and other tasks as necessary
