Waste Connections is looking for a safety-conscious Residential Garbage Truck Driver to join the team in McKinney, TX.

What we do: We provide trash and disposal services to the local community. You, a vital piece of the team, would be responsible for safely operating a Commercial CDL Truck delivering dumpster containers to customers, while providing the best service in the industry. This includes duties such as:

  • Safely driving a Commercial CDL Truck into various environments (Residential, Construction, Commercial, etc.).
  • Determining the best, most convenient drop-off location for dumpsters to avoid property damage.
  • Cautiously operating hydraulic hand controls to lift/load dumpsters on/off the truck.
  • Securing the dumpster load, covering appropriately, and accounting for weight shift before departing.
  • Reading route sheets and servicing each customer as identified or assigned by the dispatcher.
  • Performing daily pre- and post-trip inspections.
  • Interacting courteously with customers.
  • Other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

What we work with: Trash is heavy! Sometimes we have machines to aid our efforts, other times we do not. This is a year-round service – rain, snow, or shine. Be prepared to work in all environments, around heavy diesel equipment, and in dirty conditions.

Plan for the following labor:

  • Extensive physical activity, including strenuous work with consistent walking, heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 75 pounds. Exiting and entering high-set trucks. Walking. Moderate noise level.
  • Exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts, requiring basic safety precautions.
  • Exposure to outside weather, including wet/humid conditions, fumes, and vibration.

At the end of the day, we leave knowing we’ve made our customers smile!

  • Must be at least 21 years old with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Class A or B CDL.
