Job summary

ABC Outdoor Solutions, a division of ABC Supply Co., is seeking a delivery driver in Pooler, GA to ensure safe delivery of siding, windows and extrusions. You will operate straight or box trucks, perform warehousing duties, and document deliveries with photos.

Responsibilities include adhering to schedule, loading/unloading, following safety directives, and providing COD invoices. CDL-A or B required; lifting 75 lbs; pre-employment drug screen; construction material experience a plus.

Qualifications

• CDL license (A or B) is required.
• Ability to lift 75 lbs consistently.
• Pre-employment and random drug screens are required.
• Ability to stand, bend, climb, twist and reach throughout shift.
• Building material experience is a plus.
• Flatbed/straight and/or box truck experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver siding, windows and extrusions to customers.
• Adhere to delivery schedules and company directives.
• Document each delivery with photos via camera phone system.
• Ensure safety compliance with all regulations.
• Assist Delivery Material Handler with material placement and unloading.
• Complete load checks and secure materials before leaving the branch.
• Provide customers with invoices and collect COD where applicable.
• Perform warehouse duties as assigned.

Job description

ABC Outdoor Solutions (ABCOS), an ABC Supply company, is a wholesale distributor of aluminum products, building supplies and industrial products. ABCOS is proud to be an employee-first company and has received the Gallup Great Workplace Award every year since its inception in 2007.

In this role, you will ensure the safety of each delivery from the moment you leave the facility until you have completed each job. You will make deliveries in various trucks, including straight box trucks. In addition, you will be required to perform warehousing duties.

Specific duties may include:

• Treating customers in a friendly and professional manner


• Adhering to assigned delivery schedule and following all job directives precisely


• Documenting every step of each delivery by taking and uploading photos with our camera phone system


• Obeying all regulatory agency and company safety directives


• Working in cooperation with the Delivery Material Handler to determine where to set the materials and physically unloading the materials


• Completing a thorough load check on your truck before leaving branch, ensuring that all delivery materials are firmly secured and all parts of your truck are in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations


• Obeying all traffic laws and weight limits


• Completing and filing all logs and required government paperwork in a precise and timely manner


• Providing the customer with an invoice on completion of each delivery and collecting the entire due amount on COD deliveries


• Responsibilities may include warehouse work, including loading and unloading of materials on to or off of trucks or into warehouse as assigned


• Physically touching and moving material to places


• Delivering siding, windows & extrusions

This position does not require over the road travel.

Specific qualifications include:

• Valid CDL – Class A or B


• The ability to lift 75lbs consistently


• Pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens are required


• Ability to stand, bend, climb, twist and reach throughout complete shift


• Building material experience is a plus


• Flatbed truck experience is preferred


• Straight and/or box truck experience is preferred


• Semi tractor and trailer experience is preferred


• Trailer mounted forklift experience is preferred
