Job summary

Reliance, Inc. is seeking a delivery driver to operate heavy commercial vehicles, delivering or picking up merchandise regionally in a timely manner. The role requires knowledge of safety procedures, cargo securement, and FMCSA compliance.

You will perform daily vehicle inspections, maintain DVIR records, and log activities with ELDs while communicating with supervisors and customers to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of commercial driving experience.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid CDL license required.
• Successful completion of a road test.
• Ability to meet FMCSA drug and alcohol clearinghouse requirements.
• Ability to meet Federal driver qualification requirements.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.
• Strong measurement and arithmetic skills for load calculations.

Responsibilities

• Operate commercial vehicles over 26,001 lbs to deliver/pick up merchandise to regional/local destinations.
• May drive vehicles under 10,000 lbs in interstate or foreign commerce as needed.
• Follow safety procedures, secure cargo, and use tarps when required.
• Safely maneuver trucks into loading/unloading positions.
• Load and unload vehicles as required.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections per FMCSA guidelines.
• Record inspection data on DVIR and report defects.
• Use an electronic logging device (ELD) to log daily activities.
• Read bills of lading and manifests for assignment details.
• Verify load-related documentation and obtain receipts or payments when required.
• Adhere to safety processes and protocols at all times.
