Job summary

Viking Electric, a Sonepar company, is seeking a CDL Delivery Driver for Milwaukee. You will perform local box truck deliveries, conduct pre-trip inspections, load/unload goods, and interact with customers to ensure timely, safe, and accurate orders.

Training is provided for equipment operation and safety procedures. You must be 21+, hold a valid driver’s license, pass a DOT physical, and maintain ability to lift up to 85 pounds.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and be at least 21 years old.
• Able to climb into and drive delivery vehicles and lift up to 85 pounds.
• Pass and maintain DOT physical as required.
• Basic math and English communication skills required.
• Willingness to learn equipment; training provided by us.
• U.S. work authorization without VISA sponsorship now or in future.
• Minimum 1 year of related experience and/or training.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-trip inspections of delivery vehicle.
• Load materials and prepare for daily routes.
• Make local deliveries and assist customers with unloading.
• Build strong relationships with customers through reliable service.
• Operate forklifts and hand trucks as needed.
• Pack, ship, and issue materials per requests.
• Maintain safety and a clean work environment.
• Perform other warehouse duties as assigned.

CDL Delivery Driver - Moffat

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin

License: Class B CDL license

Vehicle Type: Box truck/straight truck w/Moffat

Schedule: 4:00am start time Monday-Friday

Hourly pay: $25.00/hr - $30.00/hr

Distance: Local deliveries - return home each night

What You’ll Do

As a CDL Delivery Driver, you play a vital role in delivering essential electrical products from our warehouse to our valued customers. Each day begins with a thorough pre-trip inspection of your delivery vehicle, followed by loading materials and packages to prepare for the day ahead. You will make local deliveries, contacting customers upon arrival and assisting them with unloading. As the face of our company, you’ll build strong relationships with customers who rely on your service and support.

• Conduct vehicle inspections at the start and end of your route
• Transport and deliver products to customers with care
• Unload items such as wire, pipe, conduit, and boxes during deliveries
• Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations
• Maintain a friendly and courteous demeanor with customers
• Fill orders and issues materials and supplies per requests.
• Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, cherry pickers, walking riders, reach trucks, EZGo carts, hand trucks or dollies.
• Pack and ship customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Other warehouse duties as assigned.

Requirements

What You Bring

• Valid driver’s license
• Be at least 21 years old
• Ability to climb into and drive delivery vehicles
• Ability to lift packages that could weigh up to 85 pounds
• Ability to pass and maintain Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
• Basic math skills (add and subtract numbers)
• Basic English communication skills
• Willingness to learn how to operate equipment (we provide training)
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without VISA sponsorship now or in the future
• 1 year of related experience and/or training
