Qualifications

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B, as required by assigned vehicle type.
• Current DOT medical examiner’s certificate.
• Minimum of two years Class B commercial driving experience, preferably in a logistics or freight environment.
• Clean driving record and ability to pass all required driving record, background, and drug screenings.
• Knowledge of the Washington D.C. metropolitan area and surrounding Mid-Atlantic region, including major routes, traffic patterns, and delivery zones.

Responsibilities

• Operate company-owned CDL vehicles in full compliance with DOT, federal, state, and local laws.
• Load and unload vehicles, verify packages and freight are correctly accounted for.
• Plan and follow efficient routes to ensure timely delivery while minimizing costs.
• Check correct package on board before leaving pickups or deliveries.
• Obtain signatures on deliveries and document all items.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections per DOT and company rules.
• Maintain hours-of-service and ELD compliance.
• Communicate with dispatch about route status and delays.
• Report maintenance needs or safety concerns promptly.
• Maintain accurate logs and required documentation.
• Present a professional appearance during customer interactions.
• Follow safety policies and use warehouse equipment when applicable.
• Follow procedures for handling sensitive materials including HIPAA/TSA compliance.
• Ensure compliance with DOT drug and alcohol testing and medical standards.
