PURPOSE AND SUMMARY

Markets and sells energy products and manages accounts within the assigned territory, including securing new clients and increasing sales volume with existing clients.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Establishes a delivery route system and visits all clients or potential clients to obtain orders for energy products.
  • Serves as the primary sales contact between GROWMARK and clients in the territory.
  • Achieves sales goals as set by the supervisor.
  • Follows GROWMARK’s sales and marketing strategies and participates in sales trainings.
  • Records daily sales or delivery information.
  • Maintains a prospect list and solicits new business from prospective customers.
  • Prepares order forms and sales contracts.
  • Promotes FS credit / Agri-Finance as a sales tool.
  • Distributes marketing materials and communicates programs to customers and prospects.
  • Checks customer credit history and explains credit policies to new customers, adhering to credit policies and collecting accounts as needed.
  • Fulfills orders from stock in the company vehicle or loads, drives, and delivers petroleum products as necessary.
  • Addresses customer complaints promptly and seeks solutions.
  • Submits reports and communicates activities regularly with the supervisor.
  • Maintains the company vehicle and performs basic vehicle maintenance.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct, Environmental Health and Safety policies, OSHA, and DOT regulations.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Daily travel within the territory, with occasional overnight stays.
  • Typically requires a high school diploma and 1-2 years of sales experience.
  • Demonstrates business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision-making, and skill development.
  • Must obtain or possess a selling or solicitor’s license and a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazmat endorsement.
  • Depending on experience, may need to acquire Energy Advisor (EA) or EMS certification.
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Willingness to work beyond normal hours and work in extreme weather conditions with safety precautions.
  • Participation in training related to company policies and safety is required.
