Job summary

Star Lumber is seeking a dedicated Class A/B CDL Delivery Driver to join our team and contribute to timely deliveries of building materials. You will be home every night and play a crucial role in satisfying contractor, builder, and homeowner customers.

Daily duties include pre/post-trip inspections, safe operation of tractor-trailer equipment, loading/unloading with forklifts and moffetts, precise DOT time tracking, and keeping the vehicle in good working order.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A/B CDL with a clean driving record.
• Minimum 2 years driving experience, preferably with building materials.
• Ability to safely operate commercial vehicles and equipment.
• Strong understanding of DOT regulations and compliance.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in paperwork.
• Physical ability to lift and carry heavy materials and perform manual labor as needed.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a commercial motor vehicle to transport building materials to designated locations.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety.
• Load and unload building materials using forklifts and moffetts.
• Accurate logging of delivery stops and DOT time tracking.
• Adhere to traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while on the road.
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle and report issues to maintenance.
• Collaborate with warehouse and dispatch to coordinate delivery orders.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety.

Daily Responsibilities

As a Class A/B CDL Delivery Driver at Star Lumber, you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely and accurate delivery of building materials to our customers. Your responsibilities will include:

• Safely operate a commercial motor vehicle (tractor-trailer combination) to transport building materials to designated locations.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure its safety and compliance with regulations.
• Load and unload building materials using appropriate equipment, such as forklifts and moffetts.
• Accurate logging of delivery stops and DOT time tracking.
• Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while on the road.
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, performing routine maintenance checks and reporting any issues to the maintenance team.
• Collaborate with warehouse and dispatch personnel to coordinate delivery orders efficiently.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, both for yourself and for others sharing the road.

Requirements

• Valid Class A/B CDL with a clean driving record.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Class A CDL driver, preferably with experience in the transportation of building materials.
• Ability to safely operate commercial vehicles and equipment, including forklifts and moffetts.
• Strong understanding of DOT regulations and compliance.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in completing paperwork.
• Physical ability to lift and carry heavy materials and perform manual labor as needed.
