Overview

The Delivery Driver (with CDL) is responsible for the safe, timely delivery and service of all products sold within the assigned route. The role involves safely operating a commercial motor vehicle to reach all customer locations. The Delivery Driver must understand all company policies and procedures related to delivery. Typically operating as a one-person unit, this is a salary-exempt position, averaging 40-50 hours per week, not subject to overtime, with hours reported in the company's Time & Attendance Systems. The position reports directly to the Delivery Manager.

Primary Objectives & Essential Functions
  1. Vehicle & DOT Requirements
  2. Pre- and Post-Trip Inspections
  3. Check Load Security, Verify Inventory, Check Equipment (Pallet Jacks, Sleds)
  4. Follow Safety Policies and Procedures
  5. Follow Check-In and Check-Out Policies
  6. Maintain Clean Truck and Trailer
  7. Delivery Operations: Follow Route, Deliver and Rotate Products, Manage Empties and Damages, Communicate Issues
  8. Invoice and Payment Procedures
  9. Refusals and Undelivered Stops Policy
  10. Pack Out as Directed
  11. End of Day Procedures: A/R, Inventory, Out-of-Date Product Handling
  12. Order Review for Completeness and Customer Satisfaction
  13. Load Management and Product Leveling
  14. Minimize Breakage

Development & Training
  • Participation in meetings and training programs, including BrewU courses
Driver Requirements
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Smartphone with data plan for delivery software
  • Knowledge of company objectives and customer service skills
  • Ability to read merchandise pricing and invoicing
  • Proficiency in applicable computer programs
  • Problem-solving abilities
Licenses & Certifications
  • Valid Class A CDL in accordance with DOT regulations, with a clean driving record
  • Attendance at Driver Safety Courses
  • ABC Permit for alcoholic product peddling, if applicable
Education & Experience
  • 3-5 years of delivery/distribution experience
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
Physical & Work Environment

Requires physical ability to lift at least 50 pounds repeatedly and maneuver up to 165 pounds with assistance. The role involves exposure to moving mechanical parts, vehicles, and varying noise levels, with appropriate safety training provided.
