Job summary

US Foods is seeking professional drivers to deliver to customers on our night-shift schedules, maintaining safety and service standards. The role offers a strong team atmosphere within a large food distributor, with opportunities for growth and development.

Pay starts at $27.81/hour during training and transitions to a component pay model (mileage, stops, cases) averaging about $32.00/hour. 5-day or 4-day weeks, with 12AM–5AM start times, plus day-one benefits and competitive programs.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• CDL Class A with DOT qualifications.
• Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse.
• Minimum six months commercial driving experience, or three months in food/beverage delivery.
• Must be able to read and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled delivery times.
• Carefully unload products using a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place in designated storage areas.
• Verify delivery accuracy with customers and obtain signatures.
• Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable.
• Provide professional customer service to enhance client experience.
• Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections.

Pay:

Our delivery drivers start at $27.81 during training, after training drivers switch to a component pay of mileage, stops, and cases to average $32.00 per hour.

Schedule:

• Monday – Saturday (4 or 5 day work weeks)
• 12AM – 5AM Start times

Main Ingredients of the Job

• Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled customer delivery times
• Carefully unload products from the trailer with a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place in designated customer storage areas
• Verify accuracy of delivery with customers and obtain proper signatures
• Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable
• Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance our client experience
• Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively during each shift required
• Comfortable driving and working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops (10+ per shift) required

What You Bring to the Table

• Register to the FMCSA Clearinghouse*
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
• Minimum of six months commercial driving experience (any industry) OR three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry required
• Ability to operate manual transmission preferred; may be required in specific locations
• Must be able to read and communicate in the English language - able to hold a conversation, to understand highway traffic signs and signals, to respond to official inquiries, and to enter information on reports and records.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role $27.81 per hour during training and then switches to component pay.
