Job summary

Sterling Crane USA in Texas invites an experienced CDL Crane Operator to join our Pleasanton/San Antonio branch. You will safely operate cranes, inspect ground conditions, and coordinate with ground crews to meet customer requirements.

Candidates must have a High School diploma, 3+ years with rough terrain and mobile cranes, Class A CDL, NCCCO license, and the ability to read technical drawings. We offer health benefits, 401(k) with company match, life insurance, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years experience with rough terrain cranes, carry decks, crawlers, and mobile cranes.
• Class A CDL required.
• Background checks and drug screen per policy.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a variety of cranes per procedures and site rules.
• Inspect ground conditions and check for overhead obstructions.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs; log activities.
• Maintain logs and records of operations.
• Maintain clear visual and radio communications with ground crew.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The crane operator is required to safely operate cranes efficiently and maintain a standard of accuracy that aligns with the company procedures and customer requirements.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Efficiently and safely operate a variety of specialized machinery in accordance with established procedures and guidelines ensuring the right selection and set up is made regarding crane, lift or hoist
• Inspect and assess ground conditions as well as any possible overhead obstructions
• Maintain equipment through daily inspections, to include performance of routine maintenance and minor repairs.
• Maintain logs and records of operational activities
• Maintain visual and radio communications with ground operators according to best practices and site safety regulations, and respond to questions and instructions clearly and quickly
• Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 3+ years experience working with rough terrain cranes, carry decks, crawlers and mobile cranes
• Class A CDL
• Successfully pass post offer drug and physical screens and have a background that meets company requirements
• Dependable and reliable with flexibility to work overtime, when necessary
• Maintain a current NCCCO Crane Operators License for qualified equipment
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, materials or instructions
• Good verbal and written communication skills to understand instructions, applicable safety regulations, and to maintain records
• Must have strong ability work well within a team environment.

Physical Requirements

• Strong depth perception and quick reaction time
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 65 lbs occasionally and 50 lbs regularly
• Visual capabilities to follow hand signals, maintain all logs and operate machinery
• Ability to sit for long periods of time
• Ability to work in a variety of weather including extreme heat and cold
