Job summary

Sterling Crane LLC is seeking a CDL Crane Operator in the San Antonio/Pleasanton, TX area. The role involves safely operating a range of cranes, inspecting conditions, and maintaining equipment while keeping precise records.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years with various cranes, a Class A CDL, NCCCO license, and strong teamwork and communication skills. OT may be required. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years with rough terrain cranes, carry decks, crawlers, and mobile cranes.
• Class A CDL.
• Pass post-offer drug and physical screens per company policy.
• Maintain NCCCO Crane Operators License for qualified equipment.
• Ability to read/interpret technical drawings and instructions.
• Strong verbal and written communication; team-oriented.
• Willingness to work overtime when needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of cranes safely and in accordance with procedures.
• Inspect ground conditions and overhead obstructions before lifts.
• Maintain equipment through daily inspections and minor repairs.
• Keep logs/records of crane operations and maintenance.
• Maintain clear hand signals and radio communications with ground crew.

CDL Crane Operator (San Antonio / Pleasanton, TX)

Sterling Crane LLC, founded in 1954, offers a position for a CDL Crane Operator at this branch.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Efficiently and safely operate a variety of specialized machinery in accordance with established procedures and guidelines, ensuring the correct crane, lift, or hoist is selected and set up.
• Inspect and assess ground conditions and any overhead obstructions.
• Maintain equipment through daily inspections, routine maintenance, and minor repairs.
• Maintain logs and records of operational activities.
• Maintain visual and radio communications with ground operators, responding to questions and instructions clearly and quickly.
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience working with rough terrain cranes, carry decks, crawlers, and mobile cranes.
• Class A CDL.
• Successfully pass post‑offer drug and physical screens with a background that meets company requirements.
• Dependable and reliable, with flexibility to work overtime when necessary.
• Maintain a current NCCCO Crane Operators License for qualified equipment.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, materials, or instructions.
• Good verbal and written communication skills to understand instructions, applicable safety regulations, and to maintain records.
• Strong ability to work well within a team environment.

Physical Requirements

• Strong depth perception and quick reaction time.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 65 lbs occasionally and 50 lbs regularly.
• Visual capabilities required to follow hand signals and operate machinery.
• Ability to sit for long periods of time.
• Ability to work in a variety of weather, including extreme heat and cold.
