Job summary

Crown Battery Corporation in Cromwell, CT is seeking a reliable Class B Truck Driver to follow a pre-established weekly schedule delivering batteries on time and safely. This full-time role requires DOT hazmat awareness, loading/unloading duties, and strict adherence to ELD daily logs.

You will perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections, maintain fuel and mileage records, and assist in warehouse tasks as needed. Overtime and occasional overnight trips may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid Class B CDL with air brake endorsement.
• Hazmat endorsement or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• DOT medical card and drug screen current.
• Ability to interact professionally with customers.
• Knowledge of FMCSA safety regulations and DOT guidelines.
• Clean driving record with 2 or fewer violations in 36 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-time battery deliveries, load according to stops, and assist unloading.
• Handle returns, mark accordingly, and place in designated areas.
• Ensure loads are secured and compliant with weight distribution and hazmat rules.
• Report violations, accidents, and incidents to Cromwell office promptly.
• Operate pallet jack, forklift, and other warehouse equipment as needed.
