Job Summary

All drivers run daily routes with frequent stops and are required to load packages onto hand trucks and unload product at each stop on the assigned route in the order designated by the Transportation Department Manager. The candidate will operate successfully in a cross-dock model, picking up a loaded truck from a nightly delivery at the assigned loading dock and returning the empty truck back to the lot at the end of the route. May occasionally assist with loading trucks, palletizing product, and other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical, customer relations, and personnel management for major programs and projects.
• Run routes efficiently, meeting or exceeding designated times.
• Unload product from trailers, using hand or carts, and place in designated areas, in all weather conditions.
• Lift, push, or move product weighing 1-75 pounds, up to 100 pounds; reach up to 72” to stack/unstack pallets; bend and twist during loading/unloading and retrieving items.
• Verify delivery with customers, obtain signatures, contact management for invoice discrepancies, and communicate errors/returns.
• Report if a customer does not receive their full order (shorts).
• Handle customer complaints professionally.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections following DOT regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

Education

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Experience

• One-year route delivery experience or relevant driving background.
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License – Class B (Class A preferred).
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently for communication and record-keeping.
