Summary

Responsible for safely and efficiently operating a tractor-trailer or box truck to deliver finished product to customers in accordance with state and federal laws.

Essential Functions

• Complies with Driver responsibilities as outlined in company DAART program and as required by DOT.
• Maintains vehicle in accordance with Elkhart Transportation management policy.
• Operates vehicle in a safe and efficient manner, complying with company policy, procedures, and applicable laws.
• Supports on-time delivery by transporting loads via established routes, observing traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Inspects trailer loads to ensure proper loading processes and correct loads before leaving the facility.
• Verifies product count during loading.
• Obtains correct acknowledgments, signatures, and dates for bill of lading and returns completed documentation to the Transportation Manager.
• Meets performance measures.
• Duties may vary depending on location.

Requirements/Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CDL A License.

Experience

• Prior experience driving large vehicles such as box trucks or similar.
• Demonstrated safe driving practices.
• Previous experience with freight delivery and handling preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical demands are representative of those needed to perform the job functions with or without accommodation.
