Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a domicile driver to transport, deliver, and unload metal roofing panels for dealers, distribution centers, and construction sites. This overtime-ready, over-the-road role involves safe operation of a tractor-trailer and compliance with DOT requirements.

Base pay starts at $28.00 per hour with an $8,000 bonus. Day shift, full-time position at the Vicksburg, MS area site.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL is required.
• Two years of tractor-trailer driving experience including winter driving is required.
• Must be able to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to comply with DOT regulations and maintain logs and records.

Responsibilities

• Transport, deliver, and unload metal roofing panels to customers, dealers, distribution centers, and job sites using a tractor-trailer.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and report maintenance needs.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and satisfy safety and regulatory requirements.
• Complete driver logs, fuel/mileage records, and other required documentation.
• Respond to customer inquiries about packing lists, invoices, and materials content.

JOB DETAILS

Base pay starts at $28.00 per hour.

Bonus $8,000.

Shift: Day Shift.

Site Address: 1463 Interplex Circle, Vicksburg, MS 39183.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The domicile driver will be expected to transport, deliver, and/or unload metal roofing panels to customers in a safe and timely manner to our dealers, distribution centers and/or construction job sites using a tractor-trailer. This is an over the road delivery driving position.

• Safely assist in the unloading of the product using a Moffett to customer’s location and/ or return products
• Deliver material in “route truck/multi-drop” fashion to destinations in accordance with Federal regulations
• Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speed in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather or in tight loading dock areas
• Maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations including driver logs, fuel purchases, mileage records, and other records required by law
• Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all Federal, State, and local regulations for safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle
• Able to answer questions regarding packing lists, invoices, packaging, and material content. If unable to answer specific questions, direct customer to appropriate contact
• Perform pre & post-trip inspections thoroughly
• Maintain cleanliness and integrity of vehicle and equipment
• Immediately report any necessary repairs and/or maintenance needed
• Actively ensure compliance with DOT guidelines
• May perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License
• Have an acceptable accident and moving violation Motor Vehicle Record
• 2 years of previous tractor-trailer driving experience including winter driving experience (equivalent Military DD214 experience is acceptable)
• Valid Medical Card
• Must be able to work independently
• Ability to work effectively with people in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work in degrees of precision and control where damage could be considerable
• Attention and care required to prevent injury to others when performing work
• Ability to stoop, bend, stand for long periods of time
• Ability to maintain a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
