Job summary

Primoris Distribution Services in Ocala, FL is seeking a skilled CDL Class A Equipment Operator with experience in natural gas construction to safely operate heavy equipment on pipeline and utility projects.

You will perform pre-trip inspections, transport materials, work with excavators, bulldozers, trenchers, backhoes and loaders, and follow DOT and company safety policies while contributing to on-time project delivery and a collaborative team environment with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A with a clean driving record.
• Minimum 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment in natural gas pipeline or utility construction.
• Experience operating excavators, bulldozers, trenchers, backhoes, and loaders; natural gas experience preferred.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions; strong safety focus.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds; pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Job Summary:

Primoris Distribution Services is seeking a skilled CDL Class A Equipment Operator with experience in natural gas construction for our Ocala, FL location. This role is responsible for safely and efficiently operating various heavy equipment to support pipeline and utility infrastructure projects.

Job Responsibilities:

• Operate a variety of heavy equipment, including but not limited to excavators, bulldozers, trenchers, backhoes, loaders, and other specialized natural gas construction equipment.
• Safely and efficiently transport materials, equipment, and personnel to and from job sites in compliance with all DOT regulations and company policies.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, ensuring all components are in good working order and reporting any defects or malfunctions.
• Assist with the loading and unloading of equipment and materials.
• Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and procedures, including those specific to natural gas operations.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, crew members, and other personnel.
• Maintain accurate daily logs, time sheets, and other required documentation.
• Participate in daily job briefings and safety meetings.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment as needed.
• Work collaboratively as part of a team to complete projects on schedule and within budget.
• May be required to perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment, specifically in natural gas pipeline or utility construction.
• Proven ability to safely and proficiently operate excavators, bulldozers, trenchers, backhoes, and loaders. Experience with natural gas specific equipment and procedures is highly preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all safety regulations.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and challenging outdoor environments.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Must be able to travel to various job sites within the Fort Pierce, FL area and potentially beyond.
