Job summary

Southeast Connections, LLC in Richmond, VA is seeking a CDL Class A Driver to operate dump trucks and support utility construction projects, focusing on natural gas and underground utilities.

The role requires safe vehicle operation, DOT compliance, ability to read plans, and teamwork; duties include inspections, loading/unloading, site tasks, and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record.
• DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate required.
• OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Certification or willingness to obtain.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction driving, preferably in utility construction.
• Experience with natural gas utility construction and underground utility installations.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain CDL Class A vehicles with dump bodies to transport and unload materials.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections per DOT regulations.
• Load and unload materials; secure loads for transit.
• Read and interpret construction plans and safety guidelines.
• Communicate with team and supervision to ensure efficient workflow.
• Maintain vehicle and equipment cleanliness and readiness.
• Assist in excavation and utility installation tasks as needed.
• Complete records such as vehicle logs and load tickets.
