Job Summary

The CDL Class A Driver (Transport) is responsible for driving a tractor-trailer combination or straight truck to transport parcels between terminals.

Hours and Wages

• Monday-Friday, 8:00PM start
• 10-15 hours of overtime expected each week
• Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
• $23.00-$27.00 per hour, based on experience
• +$2.00 shift premium for start times between 5:00pm - 4:59am

Duties And Responsibilities

• Conduct a pre-trip inspection before driving to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order
• Complete mileage and maintenance forms and turn in pre-trip forms
• Drive between terminals to transport parcels
• Maintain all required certifications per DOT and company safety policies
• Wash the exterior of tractor and equipment daily
• Assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pickup as needed

Skills And Abilities

• Ability to operate a manual transmission
• Must possess or be able to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement
• Good customer service and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and make quick decisions

Education And Experience

• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Valid CDL Class A driver's license with a good driving record that meets company standards

Physical Requirements

• Pass a DOT physical
• Lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc.
• Work with all types of freight, including hazardous materials, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
