The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of CDL driving experience, a clean driving record, and the ability to effectively communicate. Qualifications

Job description

SA Recycling’s Truck Driver is responsible for transporting fully loaded containers of scrap metal to customers’ yards and returning empty containers. The driver must maintain professional conduct, follow DOT regulations, in‑yard rules, and all safety protocols.

Job Duties

• Load and unload containers hauling scrap metal
• Perform DOT daily operation and safety inspection
• Communicate with office and customers to determine commodities to load
• Work independently during transport of scrap metal
• Assist customers to satisfy their needs and resolve problems
• Collaborate with yard employees to ensure a safe working environment
• Perform routine maintenance: refueling, lubrication, cooling system cleaning, and housekeeping
• Clean up work area at the end of shift
• Keep work area neat and orderly
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality
• Organize materials for efficient space use
• Dispose of waste materials appropriately
• Inspect to ensure cleanup completion
• Maintain effective housekeeping for safety and hygiene

Qualifications

• 3 years of CDL driving experience with consistent job history
• Pass a medical DOT physical and drug test
• Pass a background check, clean MVR, no recent violations, consent to Clearinghouse
• Preferred – high school diploma or GED and/or foreign education acceptable
• Bi‑lingual (English & Spanish) language skills a plus
• Ability to communicate effectively, understand directions, and use basic math skills as required by the job

Physical Requirements

Work environment: scrap metal recycling and shredder yard.

Equipment & tools: trucks up to 18‑wheeler, roll‑off, hydraulic truck tilt and lift operations.

Physical demand level: light to moderate; steady standing when machine is rocking, climbing fixed ladders.

Work capacity: truck driver capacities noted.

Sensory demands: hearing, vision, touch, smell, taste.

Hand movements: repetitive motions, gripping.
