Job summary

Spee Dee Delivery Service is seeking a CDL Class A Driver (Pick-Up) to transport parcels on an established route. The role includes pre-trip inspections, loading freight, and delivering to shippers, with overtime opportunities and a $10,000 sign-on bonus.

Hours are Monday–Friday starting at 11:00 AM, with 10-15 hours of overtime weekly and overtime paid time-and-a-half after 40 hours. Compensation ranges from $23.00 to $27.00 per hour, based on experience.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid CDL Class A driver's license with a good driving record that meets company standards.
• Ability to operate a manual transmission and obtain a doubles/triples endorsement.
• Strong customer service and organizational skills; able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a pre-trip inspection and ensure mechanical and safety readiness.
• Drive tractor-trailer or straight truck on established route to pick up and deliver parcels.
• Turn in pre-trip forms and mileage/maintenance logs.
• Load freight, transfer freight back to terminal, and ensure accurate load documentation.
• Maintain required DOT certifications and safety policies; keep equipment clean.

Job Summary

The CDL Class A Driver (Pick-Up) is responsible for driving a tractor-trailer combination or straight truck to transport parcels on an established route.

Hours and Wages

• Monday-Friday, 11:00AM Start
• 10-15 hours of overtime expected each week
• Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
• $23.00-$27.00 per hour, based on experience

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct a pre-trip inspection before driving to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order
• Turn in pre-trip form and complete mileage and maintenance forms
• Drive to shippers and load trailer with freight
• Transfer freight back to the terminal to be unloaded
• Verify all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate
• Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and company safety policies
• Wash the exterior of tractor and equipment daily
• Assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pick up as needed

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to operate a manual transmission
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement
• Must possess good customer service and organizational skills
• Must be able to work independently and make quick decisions

Education and Experience

• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license with a good driving record that meets company standards

Physical Requirements

• Ability to pass a DOT physical
• Ability to lift 75 pounds
• Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc.
• Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
