Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a general driver for its private fleet in the United States. The role involves on-time freight delivery between distribution centers, stores, and vendors, with responsibilities including unloading, securing cargo, and handling rolltainers across multiple stops.

Qualified candidates will have a High School diploma or equivalent, a valid Class A CDL, and at least six months of tractor/trailer experience, with DOT knowledge and the ability to travel overnight

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Class A CDL required.
• Six months tractor/trailer driving experience preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations required.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight between distribution centers, stores and vendors in a timely, safe manner.
• Unload and reload freight and rolltainers at each stop.
• Provide professional customer service to store teams and vendors.
• Complete paperwork and maintain records per state and federal laws.
• Ensure vehicle operation complies with regulations and safety standards.
• May travel overnight; work any day of the week; handle freight manually and with equipment.
