Job summary

Spee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. in St. Cloud, MN is hiring a CDL Class A Driver for a 4-day workweek (LTL). The driver will operate a tractor-trailer or straight truck to deliver and pick up palletized freight, following route schedules and safety protocols.

Starting pay is $23.00–$27.00 per hour, with paid overtime after 40 hours and voluntary OT on weekends. Benefits include health, dental, life insurance, PTO, 401(k) and more.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license with a good driving record that meets company standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a pre-trip inspection before driving to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order.
• Deliver palletized freight in a timely manner to customers and pick up freight from shippers.
• Verify all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.
• Collect payment for shipments as necessary and return bill of ladings to the office for billing purposes.
• Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and company safety policies.

Job Summary

The 4-Day Workweek CDL Class A Driver (LTL) is responsible for driving a tractor-trailer combination or straight truck to delivery and pick up palletized freight and/or large shipments.

Hours and Wages

• Monday- Friday, 7:30AM- completion of route
  • Day off depends on business needs, evaluated monthly
• Voluntary OT on weekends (as needed)
• Paid OT at time and a half after 40 hours per week
• Starting wage: $23.00-$27.00 per hour, based on experience

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct a pre-trip inspection before driving to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order
• Turn in pre-trip form and complete mileage and maintenance forms
• Deliver palletized freight in a timely manner to customers and pick up freight from shippers
• Verify all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate
• Collect payment for shipments as necessary and return bill of ladings to the office for billing purposes
• Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and company safety policies
• Wash the exterior of tractor and equipment daily
• Assist other drivers with loading, delivery, or pick up as needed

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to operate a manual transmission
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain a doubles/triples endorsement
• Must possess good customer service and organizational skills
• Must be able to work independently and make quick decisions

Education and Experience

• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Hold a valid CDL Class A driver's license with a good driving record that meets company standards

Physical Requirements

• Ability to pass a DOT physical
• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly up to 100 pounds occasionally
• Full range of motion with no limits on grasping, standing, squatting, stair climbing, walking, etc.
• Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
